the 11th and my 5th installment of the collaboration "of light and dark" with :icongruye:

Over icy waters and a threatening sky, a lone lake steamer makes for port while passing off the coast at Rochester N.Y. 52 miles/83.7km across from Toronto on Lake Ontario.

I am so drawn to the water, yet the turbulent winds and threatening skies strike both fear and awe in every fiber of my being. That which gives and takes life is humbling and terribly beautiful in a most fundamental way...and this I think as I stand on the shore wishing a safe passage to the freighter in the distance and the souls aboard.

Similar to a desert I believe, like the cool nights I would imagine await those who cross it. Harmonic in a way, and bare, an invitation to the viewer to relax for a night, for the first time in a long time.
I find myself taking your photos of recent more physically rather than visually.
